We can’t believe that it’s already September and that the summer is almost officially over! Ashley & Logan’s wedding was the start of our fall wedding season and they really helped us kick it off. We have been looking forward to their sweet wedding since we did their engagement session back in the spring. Although it seems that any time we take photos of these two, it’s with overcast skies, we also luck out with a beautiful sunset to end the evening.
Although the rain threatened to come all day, Ashley & Logan’s wedding day was not going to be brought down by the chance of rainfall. Their wedding was held at an adorable bed & breakfast on the water in Kilmarnock, VA that is a brand new wedding venue. In fact, Ashley & Logan’s wedding was first to be held there! Located back behind farm fields, you would never guess that the grounds open up to a beautiful view of one of the Northern Neck’s waterways. Ashley & Logan are from the small town of Kilmarnock and so this venue and location was dear to their hearts.
Ashley & Logan are incredibly kind and you can see that they bring out the absolute best in one another. Anytime Logan looks at Ashley, she lights up and Logan’s laugh is truly infectious. Ashley was truly flawless on her wedding day and we were so honored to capture this sweet couple’s big day. Congratulations, you two! ❤
While the Ashley and her girls got their hair and makeup done, Logan and his groomsmen utilized the time by doing some afternoon golfing. Logan is a big golfer, so this was definitely an ideal, relaxing way to prep for the day ahead.
Ashley was truly glowing on her wedding day. As she continued to get ready for the day, we continued to be in awe of how her wedding look came together. She is flawless!
Ashley chose to do a first look with her bridesmaids first and this moment was so sweet to capture of her and her girls.
Right before Ashley was about to go down the aisle, she decided she wanted to do a first look with her dad.
For any daddy’s girl, this is a must and I’m so glad she decided to do one.
One last drink with his guys before Logan became a married man!
And after drinks were had, this may have happened…
It’s ceremony time!
Logan’s range of reactions to seeing his bride was absolutely perfect.
This wedding party was so kind and so fun to work with. We had a blast with them.
Look at this husband & wife! ❤
We loved the amount of greenery that was all around the ceremony and reception. The decor was very simple, but so beautiful!
Introducing the new Mr. & Mrs. Nonnemacker!
Although the chance of rain throughout the day had kept the sky overcast all day, it opened up beautifully just before sunset. The effect it had on the clouds was absolutely stunning and we couldn’t resist the opportunity to pull Ashley & Logan from their reception briefly to capture some of the cotton candy sky in all it’s glory.
Now, it’s time to dance!
Just before they were about to step out and do their grand exit, I asked Logan & Ashley to enjoy their “last dance” together on the dance floor. It wasn’t long, but this sweet moment of them dancing alone on their wedding night is one of our favorites from the day.
Blessings,
Michael & Chelsea
